Sage Care can automatically process referral emails from Caring.com and A Place for Mom (AgingCare.com) when they are forwarded to your organization's unique inbound email address. Follow these steps to set up automatic forwarding in Gmail.

Before You Begin

You'll need your Sage Care inbound email address.

→ In the Sage Care web portal (app.sagecare.ai) navigate to Settings → Referrals

→ Copy your unique inbound email address (e.g. [email protected])

Instructions

  1. Add your Sage Care address as a verified forwarding address

Gmail requires you to verify any address before it can be used in filters. Sage Care handles this automatically — no further action is needed on your end.

    1. In Gmail, click the gear icon (⚙) in the top right → See all settings
    2. Click the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab
    3. Click Add a forwarding address
    4. Paste your Sage Care inbound email address and click Next, then Proceed
    5. Within a few moments, the address will be verified automatically. Refresh the page — your Sage Care address should appear as verified in the list.
  2. Create a filter for Caring.com referrals

    1. In Gmail, click the gear icon (⚙) in the top right → See all settings
    2. Click the Filters and Blocked Addresses tab
    3. Click Create a new filter
    4. In the From field, enter: [email protected]
    5. Click Create filter with this search
    6. Check Forward it to and select your Sage Care inbound email address from the dropdown
    7. ⚠️ Do not check Also apply filter to matching conversations
    8. Click Create filter
  3. Create a filter for A Place for Mom / AgingCare referrals

    1. Repeat steps a-h above, but enter [email protected] in the From field
  4. You're done!

Referral emails from Caring.com and A Place for Mom will now be automatically forwarded to Sage Care and processed as new referrals. You can view them under the Email Referrals tab in your Sage Care inbox.
